C.E. Wheeler finds inspiration in nature for his neo-transcendentalist poetry. In addition to poetry, Wheeler writes: upmarket fiction, science fiction, spiritually inspired nonfiction, and travel. He lived in China for twelve years and traveled extensively throughout the country. In China, he was the managing editor and lead writer for a monthly magazine and weekly newspaper. As a university lecturer he taught: Writing, Poetry Appreciation, American Culture, and more. Initially he moved to China to convince his now wife to marry him. While in China, Wheeler also performed as a: television, stage, advertising and voice actor. He was a single father of three for nearly twenty years before meeting the love of his life. Jessica Van de Kemp is an award-winning teacher, poet, and PhD candidate at the University of Waterloo. She is the author of the poetry chapbooks Daughters in the Dead Land (Kelsay Books, 2017) and Spirit Light (The Steel Chisel, 2015). Her poem, “Slant of the Girl,” was shortlisted for the 2015 Montreal International Poetry Prize, judged by Eavan Boland. Her play, Hatching in a Cage, was a finalist at the inaugural Newmarket National Play Festival. Waters, William
William Waters is an associate professor, in the Department of English at the University of Houston Downtown. Along with Sonja Foss, he is coauthor of Destination Dissertation: A Traveler’s Guide to a Done Dissertation. His research and teaching interests are in writing theory and modern grammar.
Watkins, Jorrell
Jorrell Watkins aka “Brotha Jorrell” is an artist and educator hailing from Richmond, VA. His work explores southern, black, hip-hop culture(s) through creative writing, drama, martial arts, and peace education. He has studied playwrighting at VONA, and poetry at Hampshire College. He currently serves as the Director of the nationally touring Hip-hop Theater play, Mixed Race Mixtape. In addition, he is a Lead Conflict Resolution Facilitator of the Richmond Peace Education Center (RPEC).
